Channel 4 has some pretty good comedies particularly at the moment the latest series of the fantastic Peep show and the Inbetweeners. However it also has this new comedy series the school of comedy. Its a comedy written by adults performed by kids. This set alarm bells ringing straight away, anything with kids trying to act funny on the TV should be avoided like the plague! Being someone who likes to give most things a chance I decided to watch the first half of the first episode to see if my initial thoughts were a bit misguided. They weren't!!! It was possibly the worst thing I have ever seen on TV, apart from that documentary about men castrating themselves but that is a whole different ball game, excuse the pun. 15 minutes of kids trying to act funny, stupid jokes and them just calling each other names for sketches. It was like watching a school playground on TV. During the 15 minutes of life that I had just wasted I was asking a few questions in my mind 1.Who finds this funny? 2. Did this show have a pilot/test screening to test audience reaction and if so how the hell did it get commissioned? The only people I think it might appear funny to is 10 year olds who would think anything was the best thing ever if it swore on TV! On the plus side though it did allow me to bring a new person into the segment of people I f**kin hate on TV and would gladly punch!
I would put up a clip of him in action but I really cant stand to watch another clip of this god awful show!
